Many football players from the city avoided the bitter cold weather outside and enjoyed a spot of warm-up drill at newly opened indoor arena.
The enthusiasts were among dozens who signed-up to become part of the Mississauga Indoor Football League.
The league held its first registration session at RinkCity Sportsplex (3636 Hawkestone Rd.), at 8 a.m today. The second sign-up takes place Monday, from 6-8 p.m., at the same location.
The league, started by Liston Bates and Jay Bodnar, is looking for youths aged 12-14 to play in its junior division and players aged 15-17 for its senior division.
The league is full contact, with equipment provided. Cost is $200, with seven games guaranteed. Games are played Saturday mornings from 8 a.m.-noon, beginning Jan. 16.
